What does BFHA have to offer the Home School Family?
Parents have the responsibility of teaching their children.
Educating children is a right and a responsibility of each parent. Parents should use all the resources at their disposal to help fulfill this responsibility.
Parents can use their resources to ensure their children have a sound education.
At various times parents may need help in the education of their children. Perhaps there is an illness, a new baby, family business needs more attention, students need a larger fish bowl to perform in, whatever the reasons, there are additional resources out there to help families meet their goals of a quality education for their children. Let us introduce a resource that can help, Benjamin Franklin Homeschool Academy, BFHA.
BFHA’s mission statement:
“Benjamin Franklin Homeschool Academy assists parents in fulfilling their parental responsibility in the education of their children. While accepting children of all faiths, we offer at an affordable cost, a LDS-based curriculum, and a positive classroom experience. Benjamin Franklin Homeschool Academy strives to instill in children a knowledge of values to better serve their God, family and country.”
Parents-teacher-student communications open, active, and productive.
No one knows the student better then the parent. Communication with parents, student and teacher are critical in the educational process. When the parents, students and teacher come together at various conferences throughout the year to assess the student’s growth, great things happen. The student feels a responsibility for his education and soon takes great pride in his work and wants to do more. Parents and teachers are there to point out where some improvements may be needed but, most importantly praise where growth has taken place. This process will help the student find his mission in life and strive to prepare for it.
Curriculum encourages weaknesses to become strengths
Whenever the parents feels their student may have a weakness or strength in a given area, the curriculum may be adjusted to accommodate the student. With the proper help all weaknesses can be come strengths. The strengths can then be shared with all those the student wishes to serve.
Parents involved in the goal setting of student’s curriculum.
Parents are aware of the subject covered in class and help with assignments to ensure the students involvement.
